Is wheatgrass good for eczema?

You are what you eat, or so the saying goes, but there is some truth in it. By paying attention to our diet, we can positively affect our skin's health.

Eczema is a condition that makes patches of skin become dry, red and itchy. Due to the itching, the skin often becomes inflamed and bloody.

The good news is that organic wheatgrass juice is a great drink to consume if you suffer from eczema.

Green organic wheatgrass juice contains abundant minerals, enzymes and vitamins and is particularly high in Vitamin E, which has been shown to revitalise the body’s cellular structure. It rejuvenates and heals the skin from the inside out.

According to some research, toxins in the blood may cause some forms of eczema and as wheatgrass has been found to be good for purifying the blood, consuming it can support healthy skin.

Wheatgrass is also high in antioxidants which fight free radicals and prevent damage and reduce oxidative stress on the skin.

Indeed, our founder Dr Britt Cordi PhD use to suffer from eczema as a child, before she discovered wheatgrass juice.

“As a child, I suffered from eczema that only disappeared when I started including wheatgrass juice in my diet. My skin is still sensitive - that’s just its type - but I know that by super boosting my nutrition with certain foods I can calm and soothe it easily.”

Some people have found applying wheatgrass juice topically to their skin can also help alleviate the symptoms of eczema. Simply by taking a sachet of frozen wheatgrass juice and rubbing it over the affected area and leaving for ten minutes before rinsing off, has helped some people.
